Biography
As the CEO of Blueprint for Better Business, Sarah advises and coaches CEO’s and Executive Directors of big businesses (FTSE 100 and large professional services partnerships) on how to transform their organisations to be both profitable and purpose-led, and the possible implications for strategy, culture and leadership. She also works with academics, investors and other NGOs to help create the environment for purpose-led business to thrive, including co-running the Purpose in Practice Community, which supports leaders from over 70 cross-sector organisations as they collectively explore this transformation journey.
Sarah has held senior positions at some of the UK’s largest retail companies, including roles in Commercial Trading, Strategy and HR. Before joining Blueprint for Better Business, she was the Director of Purpose and Special Projects at the John Lewis Partnership, where she was responsible for rearticulating and embedding the purpose of the John Lewis Partnership so that it continues to be a source of inspiration, innovation, and strategic differentiation.
Sarah is on the BSI group responsible for PAS808 – the world’s first standard for purpose-led business, which is now being developed into an international standard. She is a qualified Executive Coach, a Trustee for the John Lewis Partnership and a fellow of RSA.
Sarah is an engaging and inspirational speaker, using her personal experience working in very different commercial organisations to bring to life the role that purpose can play in unlocking potential in individuals and businesses, and ultimately in shaping a better future for us all.
